Staff Software Engineer (AI/ML), Security/Privacy
As a Staff Software Engineer, you will be a technical anchor and strategist for the GTI Agentic team. You will be a key player defining the technical outlook and roadmap for autonomous security agents, architecting the platform infrastructure that powers them. You will solve complex engineering bottlenecks, influence technical direction across Google Cloud Security and the wider Google ecosystem, and serve as a multiplier for the engineering organization to push the boundaries of AI-driven cyber defense.

- Define and drive the technical strategy, roadmap, and outlook for autonomous AI agents and platforms within the Security and Privacy (Threat Intelligence) domain.
- Architect and lead the development of next-generation, large-scale agentic infrastructure, ensuring safety, security, and performance boundaries.
- Mentor and grow mid-level and executive engineers, advocating high standards for code quality, design documentation, and system reliability.
- Influence product and engineering decisions, bridging the gap between AI research and production-grade security applications.
- Act as a key technical anchor and multiplier, collaborating with executive leadership across Google Cloud Security and the wider Google ecosystem.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in software development.
- 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products.
- 5 years of experience building software for data privacy or security (e.g., identity and access management).
- 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
- 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.
- Technical experience in the cybersecurity domain, applying AI to malware analysis, threat hunting, or security operations.
