Staff Software Engineer - Data Platform

You will drive the architecture, design, implementation, and evaluation of core systems and data platforms that process data from millions of kilometers collected by tens of thousands of high-resolution sensors deployed around the world. You will partner across the company to ensure systems are adaptable to emerging opportunities, and you will help plan technical roadmaps while leading higher-level technical strategy. You will work with sensor fusion, ML, AI, and 3D sensing processes that feed an AI conflation system on the company's processing clusters, contributing to distributed systems, ML infrastructure, and data model abstractions that power data customers, consumer products, and user-facing AI technology.

Responsibilities

• Drive architecture, design, implementation, and evaluation of core systems and data platforms
• Partner across the company to ensure systems are adaptable to emerging opportunities
• Help plan technical roadmaps and lead higher level technical strategy

Requirements

• Experience building production critical systems used by at least thousands of users
• Deep backend experience with a large scale data platform, database, ETL, or distributed system
• Strong analytical skills in a relevant field like ML, math, statistics, or quantitative economics
• Track record of deploying and maintaining large scale distributed systems
• Experience with geospatial data, HD mapping, sensor fusion, ADAS or AV is a nice to have
• Experience managing, generating, and processing large amounts of geospatial or imagery data is a nice to have
• Experience with Spark, EMR, MapReduce, Presto, Trino, Mongo Sharding, or similar systems is a nice to have
• Experience with blockchain/web3 is a nice to have
• Experience scaling products or systems at hyper-growth startups is a nice to have
