Staff Software Engineer Financial Crimes
You will set technical direction for a financial crimes compliance control plane supporting real-time screening, transaction monitoring, auditability, resilience, and vendor integrations. You will own architecture, solve distributed-systems challenges, translate regulatory obligations into engineering plans, and mentor engineers.
Responsibilities
- Set architectural direction for the compliance control plane
- Design real-time screening orchestration
- Drive multi-vendor failover and sub-second decisioning
- Design regulator-grade auditability

- Create and sequence technical roadmaps
- Anticipate platform risks and scaling constraints

Requirements
- 8+ years of production backend systems experience
- Deep expertise in Java or comparable JVM languages
- Go or Rust experience
- Architecture experience with complex distributed systems
- Technical direction experience across teams
- Resilience and distributed-systems design expertise
- Failover knowledge
- Graceful degradation knowledge
- Idempotency knowledge
- High-throughput real-time decisioning experience
- REST and gRPC API design experience
- Kubernetes knowledge
