Location: Mendrisio, Ticino, Switzerland

Overview

Architect and deliver scalable distributed platform features for OT/IoT cybersecurity at large scale.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and evolution of distributed systems that power our OT/IoT cybersecurity platform
  • Drive architecture decisions with a long‑term perspective on scalability, performance, and maintainability
  • Own cross‑team initiatives, aligning engineering efforts with product and business priorities
  • Identify and systematically reduce technical debt, improving system reliability and developer productivity
  • Act as a technical multiplier, mentoring engineers and raising the bar on design, code quality, and operational excellence
  • Define and champion best practices in software design, testing, and observability
  • Collaborate closely with Product, SRE, and Security teams to deliver end‑to‑end solutions
  • Influence and improve engineering processes, ensuring effective delivery in a fast‑paced agile environment
  • Take ownership of mission‑critical features and services, from concept through production and beyond
  • Embody Nozomi Networks' cultural pillars, promoting transparency, trust, and accountability

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience designing and building large‑scale distributed systems in production environments
  • Strong expertise in at least one core language: Golang, C++, or Ruby
  • Familiarity with JavaScript/TypeScript and React is a plus
  • Proven track record of technical leadership beyond team boundaries
  • Deep understanding of system design, algorithms, and data structures
  • Experience with modern backend architectures, APIs, and service‑oriented systems
  • Solid background in automated testing strategies (TDD, BDD, integration testing)
  • Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL and data modeling is a plus
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, UDP, etc.) is highly valuable
  • Experience working in Agile environments with cross‑functional collaboration
  • Ability to operate in high‑trust, high‑confidentiality environments
