Staff Software Engineer, Graphs

You'll be a driving force in a team of engineers, taking ownership of technical direction and sharing responsibility for providing the right tools and data to build best in class customer experiences. You'll lead the design, build and maintenance of new customer facing web-features as well as the APIs and services backing them. You'll partner closely with product managers and designers, leveraging your deep understanding of the underlying data platform to deliver impactful, scalable solutions to customers.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, maintenance and development of serving cloud-native data ingest and aggregation processes that intake gigabytes of data per day
• Drive the delivery of features across the product suite that detect activities for market manipulation, fraud, behavioral patterning, and more
• Own and scale high-performance services on AWS that handle thousands of requests per second
• Lead the team's modernization efforts towards a streaming architecture, setting technical direction and best practices
• Own and drive the direction and enablement of the graphing platform used across multiple products
• Debug and resolve production issues across multiple systems and services, guiding the team through complex technical challenges
• Mentor and grow engineers across the team, fostering a culture of technical excellence and collaboration

Requirements

• Proven experience leading the design and implementation of cloud-native services-based systems in a major cloud provider like AWS or GCP
• A strong track record of mentoring engineers, leading cross-team projects, and driving design and technology decisions at a senior or lead level
• The ability to align technical execution with product and design partners, with a strong bias to ship and iterate
• Deep experience with object-oriented programming languages such as Java and TypeScript
• 10+ years of experience working directly on complex backend and/or frontend systems and projects, including in leadership or lead engineer roles
• Great pride from taking ownership of product ideas from inception through to production
• Good understanding of both frontend and backend best practices and paradigms
• Integrated AI impactfully in customer-facing products or engineering infrastructure
