On-site in San Francisco.
About the Role
Join a small AI/ML product engineering team building infrastructure for user-facing software and AI-powered products. You will own core platform capabilities end to end, helping the team ship reliable services that support demanding workloads and a growing user base.
What You'll Do
Build and operate cloud infrastructure and containerized services using infrastructure as code.
Develop durable workflows for long-running product and AI agent tasks.
Design, scale, and tune production databases, including services built with Postgres, Redis, and ClickHouse.
Build infrastructure supporting AI agents and machine learning workloads, including long-running jobs, model routing, inference, or GPU orchestration.
Own infrastructure initiatives from architecture and data modeling through production deployment and ongoing improvement.
Use user feedback and AI coding tools to move quickly while maintaining a high standard of engineering quality.
What We're Looking For
Typically 2 to 10 years of experience in infrastructure, platform, or backend engineering, with a demonstrated progression into senior, lead, or staff-level scope.
Production experience with infrastructure as code using CDK or Terraform, Docker, and a major cloud provider such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
Hands-on experience with Temporal or a comparable durable workflow orchestration system.
Strong production database experience, including schema design, scaling, and performance tuning.
Experience operating infrastructure at substantial scale or working with large volumes of data.
Startup experience or experience combining work at a larger technology company with a startup environment.
Daily use of AI coding tools, with the ability to explain your development workflow.
Experience with AI agent or machine learning infrastructure is valuable. The product stack includes TypeScript, React, and Postgres.
