Summary
Builds modular, scalable platform components for storing and processing precision health data across Verily products, working across the company's tech stack. Core technologies include Go, Python, Java, SQL, Apache Beam, Google Cloud, Docker, and Terraform, with a focus on ETL pipelines and healthcare data standards like HL7 FHIR.
- Build modular, composable, and interoperable platform components, including storage and processing of precision health data and other product framework components across Verily products
- Work closely with the development team to design, develop, and deliver new software features across the Verily tech stack
- Generate ideas for technical design problems, compare options, and propose solutions
- Develop using industry-standard tools including GitHub, Google Cloud, Go, Docker, and Terraform
Requirements
- BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience in software development
- 10+ years experience as a software developer in an industry setting
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively
- Expertise in building software and systems on any of: GCP, AWS or Azure (GCP preferred)
- Experience with one or more general purpose programming languages including but not limited to: Java, C/C++, C#, Objective-C, Go, Python, or JavaScript
- Demonstrated experience with Go, Java, Python, and/or SQL
- Proficiency in Apache Beam and its associated technologies for data ingestion and processing
- Solid understanding of ETL principles and best practices
- Experience with designing and implementing scalable data processing pipelines with Bioquery or other analytics-oriented databases
- Education or exposure to healthcare or life sciences, with emphasis on HL7 FHIR
- Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada
- Verily is currently unable to offer employment-based visa or work permit sponsorship for this position
