The role

- Lead and mentor a small group of junior engineers, setting standards for code review and engineering workflow.
- Work alongside product, customer-facing staff and company leadership to scope what gets built next.
- Design and deliver full-stack work spanning user interfaces, back-end services, infrastructure and data pipelines.

- Prior experience directing the technical work of a group of engineers, including steering major initiatives and organizing colleagues' efforts.
- Product engineering background with hands-on delivery of customer-facing products built from the ground up, rather than deep infrastructure work.
- Full-stack ability to own a feature end to end, with a backend lean acceptable.
- Recent hands-on work bringing language-model-based functionality into live use over the past two years.
- Ability to set best practices for code quality and review on a team new to them.
- Works cross-functionally to understand user needs and help shape new products.
Bonus points
- Experience across both early-stage startups and larger engineering organizations.
