Summary

Solutions Engineers partner closely with sales, engineering, product management, and customers to design, engineer, and deliver automation solutions for complex supply network environments. This role leads cross-functional collaboration to conceptualize, analyze, and implement customized solutions for distribution and warehouse operations, ensuring alignment with customer needs and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop integrated automation solutions for customer facilities
  • Design, engineer, and layout solution configurations, including detailed warehouse layouts using tools such as AutoCAD
  • Understand customer business challenges, operational processes, and automation drivers to develop high-value solutions
  • Translate business requirements into hardware, software, and system-level recommendations
  • Develop and maintain data models and automation tools to analyze customer datasets and appropriately size solutions
  • Perform financial analysis, including business case development and cost/benefit tradeoff evaluation
  • Capture customer requirements and support product management in defining market requirements
  • Collaborate with Systems Engineering for process definition and advanced modeling
  • Participate in customer calls to address technical questions
  • Assist with proposal development, including configuration and pricing
  • Develop clear executive-level communications, presentations, and customer deliverables
  • Present complex solutions to diverse audiences, including senior executives
  • Foster a collaborative team environment and provide leadership across engineering and commercial teams

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations research, science, business, or a related field (MBA or Master’s preferred)
  • 7+ years of experience in solutions engineering, supply chain automation, or automated materials handling
  • Proven ability to lead or influence cross-functional teams and manage complex projects or proposals
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in data modeling and analysis, Excel (advanced), PowerPivot, SQL databases and/or Access
  • Experience developing business cases and conducting financial analysis
  • Prior experience preparing sales proposals and customer-facing deliverables
  • Experience with Eaches solutions or similar material handling systems (e.g., robotic pick stations, ergonomic workstations, or pick modules) preferred
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts for varied audiences
  • Demonstrated critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership abilities

Additional Information

Travel requirements may range from 10% to 30% depending on role scope.

Ability to travel to customer sites and support customer engagements.

Responsibility for managing travel expenses with reimbursement policies.
