Description
- Design server motherboard and storage backplane hardware for X14 Top Loading, Top Loading with SAS4, H14 Top Loading (160x U.2 NVMe), and the NVIDIA CMX platform.
- Capture schematics and own assigned circuit blocks, component selection, and design-issue closure.
- Perform layout review with the PCB team, including high-speed, power, and storage-drive routing constraints.
- Verify boards in the lab: power-on, sequencing, clocks, resets, I2C/I3C, SAS, SAS4, NVMe, and PCIe paths.
- Design and maintain CPLD logic for power sequencing, reset, presence detect, and board control on the motherboard and backplane.
- Set technical scope and design risk with Firmware (IPMI and SAS expander), BIOS, Mechanical, Power, Thermal, Signal Integrity, and Manufacturing.
- Support platform bring-up and customer PoC assembly for xAI, NVIDIA, SAS4 Top Loading, VAST Data, Sunlight/DDN, and NetApp.
- Investigate hardware failures on prototypes, document root cause, and represent the hardware design in program reviews, including the NVIDIA GTC 2026 CMX introduction.
