This internship is a great opportunity to experience the buoyant payment sector, at the cross road of financial services and digital commerce, not to mention the technical aspect.
Under the responsibility of the Group General Secretary, Worldline’s M&A team is at the heart of the firm’s current strategy. The intern will gain comprehensive exposure to the entire M&A process, from origination to closing, working closely under the guidance of former investment bankers, transaction services consultants, and capital markets experienced professionals from highly-regarded institutions.

Day-to-day responsibilities
- Consider and assess the potential of existing portfolio assets from an M&A perspective, identifying opportunities to enhance value creation
- Contribute to the creation of high-quality project deliverables, including materials for the investment committee or top management, acquisition rationale documentation and decision-making support tools
- Participate in the complete lifecycle of M&A execution, including monitoring due diligence, managing processes, and ensuring adherence to deadlines. This involves liaising with various external advisors and collaborating with internal divisions such as the Legal M&A, the PMI team and the Strategy team
- Assist in the financial analysis and valuation of prospective acquisition targets, ensuring accuracy and relevance in evaluations
- Engage in the identification of emerging key markets and trends for Worldline, while assessing potential future acquisitions
- Conduct competitive analyses to evaluate the relative strengths and weaknesses of key competitors, providing valuable insights for strategic decision-making

Required skills
- Financial analysis, modeling, business valuation and understanding of M&A process management
- Collaboration, positive spirit, proactive mindset, and great communication skills
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure, showcase resilience and adaptability in challenging situations
- Excellent organization and ability to juggle with multiple workflows simultaneously
- Eagerness and aptitude for quickly understanding the complexities of the payments sector
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Powerpoint, Word) and AI
Languages
- Fluent French and English speaking, analysis, and writing skill
- Other languages will be an advantage (German, Spanish, or other)
Profile
- Bac+4/5 (Business Schools, Engineering Schools, Top Universities, etc.)
- Specialization in Corporate Finance / M&A will be an advantage
- Prior experience in investment banking / M&A, transaction services, audit, private equity, or any relevant finance background will be considered an advantage
- 6-month internship from September 2026, based in Paris, La Défense
