Job summary
The Home Office works to build a safe, fair and prosperous UK. We achieve this through our work on counter-terrorism, policing, crime, drugs policy, immigration and passports.
The Immigration and Citizenship Service (ICS) manages the UK’s immigration and identity systems, overseeing visas, citizenship, resettlement, and British passports. We maintain civil records, including births, marriages and deaths, and we offer secure, efficient services that protect borders, support lawful migration, and provide trusted identity documents.
The Status Review Unit consider allegations of status or leave gained by deception and where appropriate take steps to investigate with a view to removing status.
Roles advertised are based on teams who consider Revocation of Refuge status & Indefinite Leave to Remain, Revocation or Curtailment of EUSS Pre-Settled or Settled Status and Deprivation of British Citizenship.
This is a high profile, interesting and diverse area of work, encompassing both investigative and casework actions and bringing these together in order to articulate strong and reasonable revocation decisions to contribute to achieving the Home Office’s priorities of securing UK borders and reducing illegal immigration, cutting crime and protecting UK citizens.
The role will be challenging, rewarding and at times fast paced, you will therefore need to be adaptable to change and a champion of continuous improvement, working with the management team to review processes and find best ways of working. You will receive full training and support, working collaboratively with your peers to embed the workstream within the unit.
Please note: We are looking to establish a reserve list for future immediate opportunities. If you're interested in joining our team but the timing isn’t quite right, we still encourage you to apply. Candidates who meet the required criteria will be placed on a reserve list for up to 12 months.
We’re committed to attracting a broad and diverse pool of candidates and want to ensure everyone feels welcome to express interest.
