Job Title: Steel Fabrication Quality Control Officer

💰 Salary: ₦200,000 – ₦300,000 monthly

About the Role

SEVAN is seeking an experienced Steel Fabrication Quality Control Officer to oversee quality control, inspection, welding activities, and compliance with project specifications across its steel fabrication operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming materials to confirm specifications and quality standards.
• Inspect completed and in-progress fabrication work to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Interpret and review shop drawings.
• Monitor construction and fabrication quality and compliance with design requirements.
• Approve in-process and finished products after required inspections and tests.
• Identify non-conforming work and coordinate necessary rework.
• Document inspection results through reports and logs.
• Work with the Factory Manager to improve overall quality standards.
• Educate, coach, and mentor workers on required quality standards.
• Study relevant codes and project specifications.
• Prepare testing, qualification, and certification processes for welding.
• Monitor welding activities to ensure they are carried out under the required conditions.
• Provide accurate welding inspection data and prepare relevant reports.
• Provide professional supervision to the welding team.
• Coordinate Test Pack preparation and final handover documentation.

Requirements

• Degree in Engineering, Building & Construction, Architecture, Technology, or a related field.
• 4–8 years' experience in the steel fabrication industry.
• Experience in Structural Steel Fabrication, PEB (Pre-Engineered Buildings), welding, and fabrication is mandatory.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD.
• Basic knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018.
• Experience developing and reviewing project quality plans, contract documents, and project specifications.
• Additional relevant qualifications are an advantage.
• Ability to resume immediately will be highly valued.
