STEEL REINFORCEMENT WORKER
Job Responsibilities
- Read and interpret reinforcement drawings, blueprints, and construction plans to guide rebar work
- Measure, cut, bend, and assemble steel reinforcement bars according to project specifications
- Install and secure reinforcing steel in concrete forms using wire ties, clips, and spacers to ensure structural integrity
- Position reinforcement cages, mesh, and bars to maintain proper concrete coverage
- Operate rebar cutting, bending, and tying equipment safely and efficiently on site
- Inspect reinforcement placement for compliance with engineering drawings and project standards
- Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, and construction crews to complete tasks on schedule
- Load, unload, and transport reinforcement materials around the construction site safely
- Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, organized work area to support efficient operations
- Follow workplace safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) consistently
- Identify and report defects, material shortages, or installation issues promptly to supervisors
- Assist with concrete preparation and other construction tasks as needed to support project progress
- Perform quality checks to ensure reinforcement meets project specifications and building codes
- Work effectively in physically demanding environments, including lifting heavy materials and working at heights when required
Required competencies and certifications
- Minimum education: Primary/Secondary/"O" Level, Higher Secondary/College, Professional Certificate/Nitec in any field
- At least 1 year of working experience in a related field
