So you’re warmly welcome to help make our team more diverse and the future greener.

LichtBlick is looking for you. Starting immediately. Part-time or full-time, with a permanent contract. To bring positive energy to our Technology department.

Grade 17
This position is already reserved for a LichtBlick employee.

Dein Job:

  • As a Lead Software Engineer, you will actively contribute to our agile product team organization by developing highly scalable, cloud-native applications based on the Azure service stack
  • You will translate complex business and technical challenges into pragmatic and scalable solution approaches, even when the objective is clear but the path to implementation is still evolving
  • You will shape and champion engineering standards and best practices across LichtBlick, covering architecture, software design, testing, reliability, observability, security, and maintainability
  • Through automated integration and end-to-end testing, code reviews, and continuous improvement, you will ensure the quality, reliability, testability, and maintainability of our software
  • You will take ownership of the operational quality of the systems in your area, including monitoring, incident analysis, post-mortems, runbooks, and the ongoing improvement of resilience and production readiness
  • You will identify relevant technologies, methods, and innovative approaches, introduce them to the organization, validate them through implementation, and enable other engineers to adopt and further develop them
  • As a technical role model and sparring partner for other engineers, including senior engineers, you will support teams in navigating complex technical decisions and trade-offs
  • You will contribute to the evolution of our technology strategy by connecting business objectives, product requirements, and the long-term development of our application and platform landscape

Deine Skills:

  • You have successfully completed a degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a related field, or have acquired equivalent expertise through extensive professional experience
  • Extensive hands-on experience in cloud-native software development using .NET and the Azure service stack, as well as modern frontend technologies based on React and TypeScript, sets you apart
  • You bring deep and up-to-date expertise in at least one relevant technical domain, such as distributed systems, software architecture and design, cloud platforms, data engineering, infrastructure, networking, or modern application development
  • You have a proven track record of designing, delivering, and operating complex software systems that span multiple applications, components, or engineering teams
  • Technical leadership comes naturally to you, while you stay closely connected to hands-on software development and enjoy supporting others through mentoring, sparring, reviews, and knowledge sharing
  • You combine strategic thinking with a pragmatic delivery mindset and are able to connect long-term architectural direction with the immediate needs of product teams
  • A strong sense of ownership, the ability to work independently within broadly defined goals, and accountability for the quality and delivery of the systems and initiatives in your area of responsibility define the way you work
  • You are a strong communicator, flexible, organized, and passionate about sustainability, then you’ll fit right in with us
  • Fluent in both English and German, written and spoken? Yes, please!

Benefits:

  • Flexible work arrangements (including flex time, overtime compensation, and remote work throughout Germany)
  • State-of-the-art work equipment is a given at our company
  • A modern loft-style office right next to Hamburg Central Station
  • Fair, transparent salary and career development
  • A wide range of professional development opportunities (including LichtBlick Learning and Leadership Lab)
  • Mobility allowance (bike leasing or Deutschlandticket)
  • Contributions to company pension plans and disability insurance
  • Monthly childcare subsidy per child
  • Pro-rated coverage of your LichtBlick green electricity plan
  • The option for a three-month sabbatical
  • Free use of the in-house gym and a subsidy for the Bäderlandkarte
