Sterile Processing Manager - Central Sterile - Day

Full Time, Day Shift (80 hours biweekly)
Hours: Monday - Friday, Day shift hours
General Summary
Oversees the activities of the hospital's central supply personnel regarding stocking and furnishing of sterile and nonsterile supplies and equipment.
Essential Functions:
- Oversees sterilization, assembly and storage of medical supplies and equipment.
- Establishes and oversees methods for preparing, handling and storing sterile equipment and materials.
- Directs the requisitioning, sorting, labeling and issuing of professional equipment.
- Recommends staffing levels, selects and assigns staff, evaluates performance, evaluates/tests competencies (as applicable), provides orientation, training and continuing education of staff, and initiates or makes recommendations for personnel actions.
- Develops and recommends department/entity operating budget and ensures that department/entity operates within budget.
- Creates policies and procedures for inventory control and issuance of supplies and equipments.
- Coordinates and integrates services within the department/service line/entity, with other departments/service lines/entities, and with the System's primary functions. Participates in the selection of outside services (if needed).
- Develops, establishes and implements goals, objectives, and policies and procedures for department/service line/entity operation, and which guide and support the provision of the department/service line/entity's services.
- Establishes and maintains department/entity safety, environmental and/or infection control standards.
- Continuously assesses and improves the department/service line/entity/System's performance. Maintains appropriate quality control/assessment programs (if applicable).
- Directs the preparation and maintenance of department reports. Prepares periodic reports for top management, as required.
- Recommends sufficient space and other resources required by the department/service line/entity.

Qualifications
Minimum Education:
- High School Diploma or GED Required
- Associates Degree Preferred
Work Experience:
- 2 years Relevant experience Required and
- 3 years Supervisory experience Required
Licenses:
- Certified Registered Central Service Technician Upon Hire Preferred
