Job description

Stewarding attendant

• Consistently offer professional, friendly and proactive guest service while supporting fellow colleagues
• Operate an industrial dishwasher
• Responsible for the cleanliness and sanitizing of all surfaces
• Keep floors and work areas clear of hazards and obstruction
• Responsible for the operation of kitchen cleaning equipment
• Operate dish machines for washing all hotel dishes including chinaware, glassware and flatware
• Maintain a hygienic working environment in accordance with health department regulations, brand and departmental standards
• Ensure the kitchen colleagues have the dishes and silverware required and guests have clean dishes
• Check the washing equipment is in good working order and inform supervisor of any problems or anomalies
• Sort, stack dishes, and load/unload dishwasher
• Sort, stack and store all cleaned items in an organized and safe manner
• Ensure all breakages and chipped items are removed from circulation and inventoried
• Ensure floors are dry and clean at all times
• Follow department policies, procedures and service standards
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Assist with other responsibilities and duties in the absence of team members or other tasks assigned by the manager
• Follow all policies and procedures ascertained by the hotel

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

• Organized and a great team player
• Passionate about maintaining a clean and safe working environment
• Understanding of food safety and hygiene
• Previous experience not required
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
• Highly responsible and reliable
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
• Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
• Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
• Able to work consistent night shifts
