Job Summary
The Stockroom Clerk supports daily stockroom and inventory operations by receiving, storing, organizing, and distributing materials, merchandise, and supplies. This position ensures inventory accuracy, maintains organized storage areas, replenishes stock as needed, and provides excellent customer service to internal and external customers. The Stockroom Clerk plays a key role in maintaining efficient stockroom operations while adhering to company policies, customer requirements, and safety standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Receiving & Inventory Management
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments, ensuring products and quantities match purchase orders and shipping documentation; compare invoices and packing slips to receive merchandise and report discrepancies promptly.
- Accurately process order receipts and inventory transactions using company inventory management systems.
- Conduct inventory counts, cycle counts, and physical audits to maintain accurate inventory records, and assist with reconciliation activities as needed.
- Monitor inventory levels and notify management of items requiring replenishment or reorder.
- Report damaged, defective, obsolete, or excess inventory to management.
- Label, organize, and maintain accurate inventory storage locations for new and existing products to promote efficiency and accuracy.
Stocking & Order Fulfillment
- Stock shelves, racks, cabinets, bins, storefronts, and vending machines with new or transferred merchandise.
- Pick, pack, and distribute materials, products, parts, and supplies based on customer orders and internal requisitions.
- Read and interpret order information, including catalog numbers, product descriptions, sizes, colors, and quantities.
Customer Service
- Assist customers by locating products, answering product availability questions, and providing support related to stockroom services.
- Support warehouse, stockroom, and customer service operations as needed.
Safety & Facility Maintenance
- Operate approved material handling equipment safely and in accordance with company policies and training requirements.
- Keep stockrooms, warehouses, vending locations, and storage areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
- Adhere to all customer-specific safety requirements and company policies and procedures.
