Storage Administrator

Summary

Administers multi-vendor enterprise storage (NetApp, Dell EMC, Pure Storage, SAN) to ensure availability, performance, and data protection across NFS/CIFS, Fibre Channel, and replication stacks.

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Storage Administrator to manage and support enterprise storage environments across NetApp, Dell EMC, Pure Storage, and SAN infrastructure. This role focuses on ensuring high availability, performance optimization, and robust data protection within a multi-vendor environment.

Key Responsibilities

Storage Administration

  • Manage and administer NetApp ONTAP environments, including clusters, SVMs, aggregates, and volume provisioning (NFS/CIFS)
  • Perform storage provisioning, including LUN creation, mapping, and masking on Dell EMC platforms (PowerMax, Unity, PowerScale/Isilon)
  • Administer Pure Storage FlashArray and FlashBlade using GUI/CLI and Pure1 portal

Data Protection & Replication

  • Configure and maintain data protection solutions such as SnapMirror and SnapVault
  • Manage replication technologies including SRDF

SAN & Infrastructure

  • Configure and troubleshoot Brocade SAN switches, including zoning and fabric management

Monitoring & Optimization

  • Monitor storage performance, utilization, and capacity
  • Perform capacity forecasting and implement performance optimization initiatives

Support & Operations

  • Provide L2/L3 support, conduct root cause analysis (RCA), and resolve storage-related incidents
  • Execute firmware upgrades, patching, and change activities in line with ITIL processes

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in storage administration
  • Strong expertise in NetApp technologies (ONTAP, AFF, FAS)
  • Hands-on experience with Dell EMC storage systems and replication technologies
  • Knowledge of Pure Storage platforms (FlashArray, FlashBlade)
  • Solid understanding of SAN technologies (Brocade switches, zoning, fabric management)
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Active IQ, Unisphere, and Pure1
  • Good understanding of storage protocols (NFS, CIFS, iSCSI, Fibre Channel)
