Reviews item characteristics such as special storage requirements, popularity, security requirements, historic data and hazardous compatibility in order to plan preferred storage location.
Recommends the allocation of items and classes of items to particular depot facilities.
Provides support and advice on proper layout and utilization of allocated space to depot functional organizations.
Conducts training of personnel involved in the implementation of new or revised methods for storage of material as new techniques and concepts are developed.
Reviews regulations and circulars insuring conformance which other directives or higher echelon regulations and policy.
