Ugly Bagel started in Downtown Nashville with a simple idea: great bagels should make people smile. Our bagels are hand-rolled, boiled and baked fresh every day. They’re a little lumpy, a lot delicious, and ugly on purpose. Now we’re looking for a Store General Manager to lead one of our shops and keep the good vibes and the ovens going.

You know the restaurant business inside and out. You can read a P&L before your first coffee and still make every guest feel like a regular. If you care about craft, people and running a tight shop, keep reading.

What You’ll Do

• Run the whole store: sales, labor, food cost, inventory and profitability
• Hire, train and grow a crew (our Bagel Fam) that shows up and takes pride in the work
• Keep quality steady, from the bake to the schmear to the coffee
• Make sure guests get fast, friendly service, whether they dine in, take out, order online or book catering
• Own food safety, cleanliness and opening and closing standards
• Build schedules, order product and handle vendors
• Get to know the neighborhood and turn first-time guests into regulars

What You Bring

• Some restaurant management experience, ideally in quick-service, fast-casual or bakery-café
• A track record of hitting sales, labor and cost targets
• A leadership style that’s hands-on, steady and fair, plus a willingness to jump on the line when it’s busy
• Strong organization and the ability to juggle a lot without dropping the bagel
• ServSafe Manager certification, or the ability to get it
• Availability for early mornings and weekends. People like their bagels early and everyday
• A sense of humor. We take bagels seriously, not ourselves.
