Store Manager Summary and Overview:
The Store Manager is responsible for the daily planning, coordination, and direction of store resources to achieve assigned sales, profitability, and operational goals. This role includes full profit-and-loss accountability as it relates to store performance.
The Store Manager is responsible for the daily planning, coordination, and direction of store resources to achieve assigned sales, profitability, and operational goals. This role includes full profit-and-loss accountability as it relates to store performance.
The Store Manager is responsible for securing the company’s share of the market within the assigned territory for each represented product line. This is accomplished in accordance with established company policies, objectives, pricing, and margin requirements.
The Store Manager will make recommendations that directly impact inventory management and stocking strategies. Additionally, the Manager is responsible for identifying and implementing the store’s training needs, which requires a thorough understanding of the core responsibilities of each employee within the branch.
The Store Manager is also responsible for implementing effective processes that support inventory accuracy and customer service objectives. This includes planning, directing, and overseeing all warehouse operations, including receiving, inspection, stocking, shipping, delivery, and value-added services.
The recommendations and decisions made in this role have a significant impact on store performance and may influence operations across the organization.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
General Management
- Daily management of all employees within the branch
- Troubleshooting P21, network, and Procedural Issues
- Reporting of Insurance Related Incidents
- Management of Customer Service Issues – shipping and receiving, sales department, deliveries, etc.
- Delivery - Schedules and Plans the delivery of material to customer locations throughout the region
Inventory
- Utilizing available resources to maintain an accurate and complete inventory
- Daily Management of the Min by Customer Report
- Management of Inventory Turns
- Work to eliminate redundant Items-on-the-fly
- Review specific vendors when a product manager makes a visit to the branch
Requirements:
- Requires a working knowledge of the industrial supply business.
- Possess excellent organizational skills.
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Well versed in problem solving techniques.
- Ability to effectively communicate with management and peers.
- Budget development and cost management abilities.
- Administrative skills including record keeping and report structure.
- Material planning and scheduling techniques.
- Material inspection and evaluation methods and procedures.
- Ability to work directly with hourly employees and maintain a productive employee involvement environment.
- Professional appearance and manner.
- Able to provide coaching and leadership
- Demonstrate enthusiasm, teamwork, creativity, and will work to create and maintain a climate conducive to an effective and efficient operation
This role works in both warehouse and office environments. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. While performing the duties of this role, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee may be required to lift up to 20 pounds independently and up to 50 pounds with assistance. While in a warehouse setting, the employee may be exposed to the outdoor weather temperature and loud noise.
