About KTA Super Stores
We owe our century of existence entirely to the people of Hawai‘i Island. From our modest beginnings in a 500-square-foot store in 1916, KTA Super Stores and our 800 associates remain deeply rooted in a single, quiet philosophy: to humbly serve the community that sustains us.
Core Responsibilities
Ensure efficient store receiving operations by accurately counting and verifying incoming vendor merchandise, securing company assets at the receiving door, and maintaining an organized warehouse space.
-
Receiving & Invoice Verification: Accurately receive, count, and verify incoming merchandise against vendor invoices. Scan invoices into the computer system, log verification, and write up credit claims for damages, overages, or shortages.
-
Warehouse & Inventory Support: Store merchandise using forklifts, pallet jacks, stock wagons, and freight elevators. Rearrange warehouse inventory, rotate items according to shelf dates, breakdown vendor shipments, scan damaged/unsalable merchandise, and assist with periodic store inventory setups.
-
Security & Facility Maintenance: Enforce receiving and back-door security procedures with vendors and associates to safeguard store assets. Keep the warehouse clean daily by sweeping, removing trash/pallets, servicing stock wagons, inspecting power pallet jacks/forklifts, and securing perimeter doors and gates.
-
Customer & Team Engagement: Assist vendors and co-workers professionally, answer incoming phone calls and PA announcements, and deliver friendly, helpful service to store shoppers as needed.
Working Conditions & Physical Demands
-
Environment: Frequently work outdoors receiving, breaking down, and loading merchandise in varying weather (heat, humidity, noise, or rain) and around forklift exhaust fumes. Occasionally work indoors in poorly ventilated, warm, or dusty warehouse spaces.
-
Physical Effort: Continuously stand and walk throughout the shift. Frequently bend, squat, kneel, crouch, reach, carry up to 30 lbs, and lift cases of merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs. Push hand trucks up to 300 lbs and pull pallet jacks loaded up to 2,200 lbs. Seldom push up to 600 lbs or climb ladders.
-
Equipment Use: Frequently use computers, scanners, printers, forklifts, power pallet jacks, balers, freight elevators, hand trucks, Telxon/Janin receiving units, and stock wagons.
-
Safety: Continuously wear a back support belt when performing job duties and strictly follow all security and safety protocols
Benefits & Work Culture
