Strategic Communications Manager 100%

The Strategic Communications Manager helps shape how Climeworks communicates its strategy, performance, progress and impact to key audiences.

Reporting to the Media & Issues Lead, Tristan Lebleu, this role supports the development of Climeworks’ corporate narrative and strategic messaging, helping to ensure a clear, consistent and compelling story across executive communications, thought leadership, corporate channels and major reporting outputs, including the Annual Report, Sustainability Report and quarterly investor reporting.

The role will also work directly with the VP Communications & Branding on a number of key projects relating to corporate messaging, strategic writing and reporting.

Working at the intersection of communications, strategy and business performance, the role partners closely with teams across Finance, Commercial, Operations and Technology to translate complex information into clear, credible and compelling communications.

This is a hands-on, writing-led role for an exceptional communicator who combines outstanding editorial skills with sound business judgement and the ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic communications, narrative and messaging

  • Develop and refine Climeworks’ corporate narrative, positioning, messaging framework and supporting proof points.

  • Develop messaging for key strategic priorities, market developments, partnerships, company milestones and corporate issues.

  • Help ensure consistency and clarity across how Climeworks communicates its business, strategy, progress and impact.

  • Work directly with the VP Communications & Branding on selected high-priority narrative and messaging projects.

Corporate reporting

  • Support the development and delivery of Climeworks’ Annual Report, Sustainability Report and quarterly investor reporting.

  • Help shape the narrative, editorial structure and messaging of these reports, and draft high-quality content that tells a clear and coherent story of company performance and progress.

  • Partner with business units and senior stakeholders to gather inputs and translate them into clear, accurate and engaging reporting content.

  • Help manage reporting timelines, content development and stakeholder review processes from planning through to publication.

Executive communications and thought leadership

  • Support in developing high-impact executive communications, including speeches, op-eds, articles, presentations and LinkedIn content.

Experience and skills

  • Native-level English and exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to explain complex topics clearly and persuasively.

  • Excellent editorial judgement and the ability to identify the most important story within complex information.

  • Strong hands-on experience developing corporate narratives, strategic messaging and executive communications.

  • Around 8+ years of experience in corporate communications, financial communications, investor communications, journalism, corporate reporting, sustainability communications or a related field.

  • Experience contributing to annual reports, sustainability reports, investor communications or other major corporate publications is a strong advantage, but not essential.

  • Sound understanding of business strategy, corporate performance and stakeholder communications.

  • Experience working independently with senior executives and cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

  • In-house corporate communications experience is preferred, although strong agency experience may also be relevant where it includes substantial strategic writing and messaging work.

  • Experience in climate, sustainability, energy, technology, infrastructure or another complex industrial sector is an advantage.

Salary: At Climeworks, salary ranges are assigned to a job based on the level of seniority and the location specific market median of similar jobs according to external benchmark surveys. Individual compensation depends on your skills, experience, and the value you bring to the team.
