The role
The Strategy Director leads our Strategy team as a player-coach: you'll write briefs yourself and mentor the strategists who write the rest. You own the work that comes before the creative: the consumer and cultural insight, the creative brief, and how we'll measure success.
You're the senior strategic owner of our client business and new business. You partner daily with Creative, Media, Account and Production, and you consult on strategy well beyond your own team's assignments. You'll report directly to agency leadership.
We care more about how you think than where you've worked. You might be a senior strategist or associate director at a general-market agency who wants to go deep on culture. You might be a multicultural strategist ready to run a department. Either path works if your briefs make the work better and you can prove what it did.
What you'll do
Lead, coach and grow a team of 3–4 strategists through assignments, reviews and example.
Own overall client strategy on our largest accounts, including automotive.
Find insights specific enough to belong to one audience. Asian American isn't one audience: origin, generation, language and life stage all change the answer.
Write your own briefs that inspire award-winning work, and present them with conviction to senior clients.
Build measurement in from day one: set objectives, define KPIs and show whether the work worked.
Bring provocative points of view to clients and to our own teams.
Spot and shape the projects with award potential.
Protect and grow client relationships, and help win new business.
What you bring
8+ years in agency advertising strategy, including 3+ years managing a team. You're already at Senior Strategist or Associate Director level or above.
Strong fundamentals in research, insight, brand positioning, creative briefs and communications planning.
Comfort with metrics, statistics and measurement. You can read a tracking study, question a sample size and prove results.
Experience on large national clients.
A creative approach, a strong point of view and the confidence to present it to senior clients.
A record of coaching strategists and growing agency business.
Hands-on use of AI tools in research and planning, and the judgment to know where they fall short.
Strongly preferred
Work on award-winning campaigns.
Hands-on experience in media, creative or account service, in addition to strategy.
Automotive category experience.
Hands-on strategy work with Asian American consumers, ideally across more than one segment.

Pay Range
$140K-$180K
We recognize that every candidate brings a different combination of experience and expertise. As a result, compensation is determined individually, taking into account job-related skills, relevant experience, education, training, and other factors that contribute to success in the role.
