Salary: Grade 13, £ 49,211 - £53,826 per annum (pro rata for part time) (pay award pending)

Working Hours: Full time, 37 hours - Monday to Friday

About the Role

This role will suit an ambitious and self-motivated person with experience of project management, innovation, social care policy and change leadership who is willing to grasp fresh challenges and learn new skills to help Adults and Culture successfully navigate Local Government Re-organisation and to lead in the further development of co-production across the department. You will work with departmental leaders to develop and implement strategic plans (including Commissioning plans) and ensure that engagement and co-production influences strategy and service delivery and that people’s voices are heard.

Following the successful promotion of the previous post-holder to a Head of Service role, we are inviting expressions of interest for an 18-month secondment to join a small, friendly, supportive and highly performing strategic team, working at the cutting-edge of strategy development and preparations for Local Government Reorganisation.

About You

To apply for this post, you must be able to evidence in your application how you meet the following criteria:

  • Have a relevant degree/professional qualification or an equivalent level of relevant experience.
  • Experience of project management and delivery of complex projects, including policy development and implementation.
  • Good knowledge of current key issues facing Adult Social Care Services Departments, Local Authorities and the NHS, with the ability to constantly update knowledge, particularly in relation to national policy and its local impact.
  • High levels of political awareness and a strong understanding of the wider strategic and political context within Leicestershire.
  • Successful experience of working in a complex partnership setting.
  • Understanding of strategic commissioning.
  • Strong experience of setting clear priorities and objectives and negotiating and implementing effective outcomes.
