Strategic Supplier Manager - BLC (m/f/d)
The role of a Strategic Supplier Manager – BLC (board loadable components) is to define and steer the long‑term direction of the supplier network and the supplier relationships to support the organization’s strategic objectives. They are responsible for translating commodity strategies into supplier strategies, leading supplier performance governance, negotiating contracts and long‑term agreements. Strategic Supplier Managers proactively drive cost, innovation, risk, sustainability, and compliance initiatives, while building strong partnerships with key suppliers. They work closely with Commodity Mgmt, R&D, product management, quality, and senior leadership to align supplier capabilities with future business needs, including innovation and growth requirements. Their goal is to ensure a resilient, high‑performing supplier network that delivers long‑term value and enables sustainable competitive advantage, while structural issues are addressed at the strategic level.
- Strategic Supplier Management: govern relationships with suppliers along the full supplier lifecycle, define supplier strategies aligned with business, commodity and supply network objectives
- Commercial & Contract Mgmt: lead long-term contract and agreement negotiations, drive value creation through cost optimization, innovation and collaboration
- Supplier Performance Mgmt: establish and steer performance mgmt., evaluate and mitigate supplier-related risks, lead corrective actions
- Cross-functional Collaboration: co-operate with Commodity Mgmt., Quality and Product Mgmt., align stakeholder on supplier strategy
- Continuous Improvement: drive CI initiatives with suppliers, define opportunities for innovation, multiple sourcing, supply base optimization, support SC resilience
