Strategy & Operations Analyst
Strategy & Operations Analyst — Karya
We are looking for a Strategy & Operations Analyst to work closely with the leadership team across product, operations, and project management. This is not a conventional reporting or MIS role—you will tackle ambiguous questions, turn data and research into insights, and help drive better decisions.
The Role
As a Strategy & Operations Analyst, you will bring analytical rigor, curiosity, and structure to a wide range of problems. Your work will include:
- Analyze operational performance and product data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement
- Support process, and strategic initiatives through research, user/team insights, quantitative analysis, scenario modelling, and structured problem-solving.
- Own the measurement layer for product initiatives, identify the right data sources and pull the metrics needed to validate problem statements and track KPIs defined in product and business requirement documents.
- Build dashboards, reports, trackers, and decision-support tools to improve visibility, monitor performance, and enable data-driven decision-making.
- Turn ambiguous questions into structured problems, actionable recommendations, and clear decision documents.
- Contribute to cross-functional projects by contributing from problem definition → analysis → recommendation → execution.
The role will evolve with Karya's needs. You should be comfortable moving between different problems and taking ownership from question to execution.
What We're Looking For
We value intellectual horsepower, curiosity, ownership, and judgment more than a specific degree or career path.
You may be a strong fit if you have:
- 3-5 years of experience in analytics, consulting, research, operations, technology, or a similar analytical role.
- Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent Excel/Google Sheets skills; SQL is a must-have.
- Pandas-python or any experience in dealing with tabular data (csv, tsv files) is a plus.
- Ability to structure ambiguous problems and break them into manageable pieces.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High ownership, attention to detail, curiosity, and comfort working independently.
- Genuine interest in Karya's mission and creating real-world impact.
We welcome candidates from unconventional backgrounds. You don't need to have followed a conventional analyst career path.
What Would Make You Exceptional
You will stand out if you:
- Move comfortably between spreadsheets, research, team conversations, and strategy.
- Simplify complex ideas and communicate insights clearly.
- Spot patterns and opportunities others may miss.
- Have a strong bias toward action rather than endless analysis.
- Ask thoughtful questions and know how to find answers when you don't know something.
- Care deeply about whether analysis leads to better decisions.
- Enjoy building systems, solving unfamiliar problems, and getting hands-on with execution.
What You Can Expect
- Close exposure to leadership and organizational decision-making.
- A broad role spanning strategy, research, and operations.
- Significant ownership from problem definition through execution.
- Exposure to multiple teams and how Karya operates.
- The opportunity to directly influence processes, systems, and organizational priorities.
- High autonomy, responsibility, and a steep learning curve.
- The opportunity to become a generalist problem-solver while contributing to a mission-driven organization
