Striker Diesel Electric

About the Position: Serves as a Striker, Diesel Electric assigned to the Operations Division, Revetment Branch, MSU you are assigned to the engine room providing power for electrical operation and heavy construction equipment. -The duty location will be wherever the Mat Sinking Unit is located. -This position is a Permanent, Full-Time, Seasonal Appointment. -The position is advertised externally under Vacancy CEDC-26-13029799-DHA

Stands a regular watch and assists the shift operator in the care and operation of engine room equipment by making frequent check of temperature and pressure gauges for proper reading.

Greases equipment, using pressure gun, selecting the proper lubricant for the different locations.

Maintains engine room in a clean and orderly condition.

Stands by control panel during peak load conditions to keep generators in balance so that operations will not be delayed by one generator becoming overloaded and circuit breaker kicking out.

Performs preventive maintenance work represented by changing fuel oil filters, replacing pumps, changing oil, assembly and disassembly work in assisting superior on major repair jobs.
