An established engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join its team based in the Hull area.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated engineer who enjoys working independently and has experience assessing the condition of existing structures within industrial and port environments.
The Structural Engineer role:
The successful candidate will undertake detailed condition surveys of a wide range of port and industrial infrastructure, assessing structural condition and preparing comprehensive technical reports. The role involves regular site work as well as office-based reporting and data analysis.
Key Responsibilities of this Structural Engineer role:

Carry out detailed structural condition surveys of port and industrial assets.

Assess structures constructed from steel, reinforced concrete, and masonry.

Prepare clear, accurate, and comprehensive condition survey reports.

Collect, record, and manage inspection data.

Analyse survey information using spreadsheets and other data management tools.

Work independently while maintaining high technical and professional standards.

Liaise with colleagues and clients as required.
Essential Requirements for this Structural Engineer role:

Minimum qualification of HND in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).

Demonstrable experience with steel, concrete, and masonry structures.

Experience undertaking structural inspections and condition surveys.

Strong report writing and technical communication skills.

Good working knowledge of spreadsheets and electronic data collection.

Self-motivated with the ability to plan and manage work independently.

Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
Desirable

Experience working within ports, docks, industrial facilities, or heavy infrastructure.

Familiarity with asset management and inspection methodologies.
