Thornton Tomasetti, Inc., seeks Project Engineers - Structure in New York, New York:
Assist in the direction, coordination, planning, organization, integration, and completion of engineering projects within the area of assigned responsibility.
Communicate with clients to understand project requirements.
Plan and formulate engineering programs and organize project staff according to project requirements.
Perform analysis and design of structural systems for all types of buildings and materials using various
building codes.
Manage other design team members and supervise the work of engineers and draft persons.
Direct project staff in preparing contract documents, including drawings and specifications.
QAQC Projects.
Prepare drawings and details utilizing Revit and AutoCad.
Perform site visits and reports during construction administration.
Communicate and coordinate workflow with other engineer/office.
Create sketch/clarification during construction administration.
Requires a Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field plus 4 years of experience in a related occupation. Requires 4 years of experience in the following: Utilizing reinforced concrete analysis software for design of cast in place concrete footings, beams and walls, including using tools to design element size, depth, and reinforcing bar sizes and quantities; Participating in construction administration including liaising with contractor and reviewing shop drawings; and Utilizing documentation software for drawing production, including development of plans and details for construction. Requires 2 years of experience in the following: Designing steel-framed structures including conventional floor framing, composite slabs on metal deck; Utilizing analysis software, spreadsheets, and hand calculations in accordance with the American Institute of Steel Construction and American Concrete Institute; Utilizing knowledge of structural obligations for local building codes, including New York State Building Code 2020 and New York City Building Code 2014. 20% domestic travel required. Telecommuting and/or working from home may be permissible pursuant to company policies. When not telecommuting, must report to work site.

Compensation
The rate for this position generally is $142,750 - $142,750 annually. This range is a good faith estimate provided pursuant to the New York Pay Transparency Law. It is based on what a successful New York applicant might be paid and assumes that the successful candidate will be in New York or perform the position from New York. Similar positions located outside of New York will not necessarily receive the same compensation. Actual pay rates may vary from the range, as permitted by New York Equal Pay Transparency Law. Compensation offers will be based on various factors, including operational needs, individual education, qualifications and experience, work location and comparison to employee already in the role, as well as other considerations permitted by law. A potential new employee’s pay history will not be used in compensation decisions.Benefits
