Structural Steel Detailer/Draftsman
Roles & Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Project Managers and Engineers to prepare technical drawings and secure submission approvals
- Generate accurate material take-offs to support project planning and procurement
- Develop detailed shop fabrication drawings for structural steel works to guide manufacturing
- Create cutting plans to optimize material procurement and minimize waste
- Produce additional drawings and support fabrication and installation activities as required by QA/QC teams and Engineers
- Manage ad-hoc duties including coordination of related site matters to ensure project continuity
Required competencies and certifications
- Degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of experience in metal and steel structural drafting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and BIM software
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Singapore Structural Steel Society (SSSS) – Structural Steel Engineer (StEr) certification (advantageous)
