Student Athletic Event Medical Support Staff (Part-Time/As Needed)

Lyndon Institute is seeking a caring, dependable, and medically qualified individual to provide health support for a student attending athletic events throughout the school year.

This position plays an important role in ensuring the student's health and safety while participating in school-sponsored athletic activities away from campus.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Accompany a student to athletic events as assigned.
  • Perform periodic blood glucose monitoring throughout events and travel.
  • Administer rescue medications when necessary and in accordance with physician orders.
  • Follow the student's individualized Diabetic Health Plan and Emergency/Rescue Plan.
  • Monitor the student's condition and respond appropriately to changes in blood glucose levels.
  • Communicate with school personnel, coaches, and parents/guardians as needed regarding the student's health status.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of care provided during assigned events.
Qualifications:
  • Current licensure or certification appropriate to administer medications and provide diabetic care (such as LNA, RN, LPN, EMT, or other qualified healthcare professional, as applicable) is preferred
  • Experience caring for individuals with diabetes is preferred.
  • Ability to remain calm and respond appropriately in emergency situations.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Must successfully complete all required background checks and pre-employment requirements.
  • This is a part-time, as-needed position with hours based on the student's athletic schedule, including evenings and weekends.
