Student Management Officer (Contract)
Roles & Responsibilities
1. Investigation of Student Misconduct
- Conduct fair, sensitive, and thorough fact-finding interviews with students involved in disciplinary incidents (accused, victims, and witnesses).
- Review CCTV footage, written statements, and supporting evidence to document findings objectively.
- Prepare concise and clear investigation reports for the school discipline committee.
- Handle critical escalations and liaise professionally with external statutory boards, including the Singapore Police Force and the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF).
- Maintain absolute confidentiality over sensitive case data and student records.
2. Rehabilitation & Student Support
- Conduct regular, structured one-on-one check-ins with high-needs students to closely monitor progress and offer guidance.
- Engage actively with parents and guardians to build collaborative strategies for student betterment.
- Document all case rehabilitation metrics accurately.
3. Preventive Walkabouts & Administration
- Perform regular school walkabouts to proactively detect or deter campus rule violations and illicit activities (e.g., vaping, smoking).
- Coordinate student care networks with external community partners and Family Service Centres (FSCs).
- Attend designated training and workshops to continuously upskill in trauma-informed care practices.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimally a Diploma from a local polytechnic or an equivalent qualification.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience working directly with youth in an educational, social service, law enforcement, or community care environment.
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in case management or conducting formal investigations.
Required Skills
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to engage comfortably with students, parents, and administrative staff.
- Strong mediation skills with the proven ability to de-escalate tensions and resolve peer disputes.
- Competence in managing sudden student incidents or security emergencies professionally.
- Solid report writing skills for drafting objective, structured statements and case files.
Work Hours: Monday to Thursday (8:00 AM – 5:30 PM), Friday (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM). Includes a 1-hour lunch break. Free on weekends and public holidays.
