Student Management Support Officer (Discipline & Operations)
π οΈ Key Responsibilities
1. Student Discipline & Behavioral Management
- Discipline Support: Partner closely with the school Discipline Team to oversee, implement, and maintain overall student discipline standards.
- Incident Management: Supervise students assigned to in-house detention, locate missing students, and manage active student meltdowns safely and empathetically.
- Special Case Support: Supervise, mentor, and engage Students with Additional Needs (SwANs) and students identified as at-risk.
2. Patrols & Operational Duties
- Premises Patrol: Conduct routine checks across school grounds, canteen areas, and free play zones to ensure student safety and orderliness.
- External Monitoring: Assist with traffic control duties and patrol out-of-school areas including neighboring HDB blocks and public playgrounds.
- Grooming Checks: Conduct routine spot-checks on students' overall neatness, uniform attire, and hair standards.
3. Investigations, Case Management & Outreach
- Case Investigations: Lead preliminary incident investigations, take statements from students, and compile objective reports for school leadership.
- Home Engagement: Conduct joint house visits alongside school personnel and manage phone communications with parents regarding student updates.
- Staff Guidance: Help guide school staff on proper incident management techniques and restorative discipline practices.
- Meetings: Actively participate in administrative student management and case review meetings.
π Job Requirements
Experience & Background
- Minimum of 3 years of active experience in enforcement agencies (e.g., SPF, SCDF, SPS, or established auxiliary security forces).
- Proven experience utilizing a restorative practice approach for case management and disciplinary support.
- Prior experience in a local primary school or working with young children is highly advantageous.
Core Skills & Competencies
- Communication: Strong English proficiency to confidently speak, read, and write structured, objective incident reports.
- Interpersonal: Natural capability to build rapport with young primary school students, teachers, and external parents.
- Technical: Basic ICT literacy with proficiency in data entry and case logging via Microsoft Office application tools.
- Attributes: Meticulous attention to detail, efficiency in meeting tight deadlines, and a service-oriented mindset.
β° Work Schedule
- Mondays to Thursdays: 6:45 AM to 4:00 PM (includes 45 minutes lunch break).
- Fridays: 6:45 AM to 3:30 PM (includes 45 minutes lunch break).
- School Holidays: Service is generally not required during school holiday periods, except on specific ad-hoc days requested by the school.
- Rest Days: Off on Saturdays, Sundays, and all gazetted Public Holidays.
