Student Radiology Tech - Cath Lab (PRN)

Position Summary

Provides clerical and technical support to the Radiology Department under the supervision of the Technical Supervisor or coordinating technologist

Primary Duties

Patient Care:

1. Completes a comprehensive assessment on patients of all ages under the supervision of a Registered Technologist
2. Obtains pertinent medical history from patient by observation or with oral communication under the supervision of a Registered Technologist
3. Performs patient assessment to determine:
   1. Patient’s physical ability to undergo the imaging procedure as needed under the supervision of a Registered Technologist
   2. What patient care is needed during the procedure under the supervision of a Registered Technologist
   3. What modification of the procedure may be required by the age of the patient under the supervision of a Registered Technologist
   4. If there are contraindications to performing the procedure as ordered under the supervision of a Registered Technologist.

Qualifications/Specifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum of twelve (12) months education in a JRCERT accredited School of Radiology
• Licensure/ Certification: BLS certification
• Experience: Twelve (12) months education in a JRCERT accredited School of Radiology
