The Ursinus Fund is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic students to join our team as Student Engagement Officers (SEOs). This role is ideal for students interested in communications, fundraising, alumni engagement, philanthropy, event management, customer relations, and higher education.
Reporting to the Student Engagement Manager, Student Engagement Fellow, and Director of The Ursinus Fund, Student Engagement Officers work up to 6 hours per week throughout the academic year to engage, solicit, and steward alumni, parents, donors, and friends of Ursinus College. Through personalized outreach and meaningful interactions, SEOs help strengthen constituent relationships, increase engagement, support fundraising efforts, and foster a culture of philanthropy across the Ursinus community.
Student Engagement Officers also support key Advancement initiatives, programs, and events while developing professional skills in communication, leadership, project management, and relationship building.

Specific Responsibilities:

Broad-Based Outreach

  • Conduct outreach through phone calls, emails, and text messages as part of structured engagement, stewardship, and solicitation campaigns.
  • Build meaningful connections with alumni, parents, donors, and friends of the College through personalized conversations.
  • Accurately document outreach attempts, constituent updates, and engagement activity in designated systems.
  • Represent Ursinus College and The Ursinus Fund professionally in all constituent interactions.
  • Help maintain accurate constituent information and engagement records.

Event and Project Support

  • Assist with Advancement events, donor stewardship activities, alumni programs, admissions initiatives, and special projects.
  • Support event preparation, registration, setup, breakdown, and attendee engagement efforts.
  • Assist with creating materials such as name tags, signage, RSVP lists, presentations, and other event resources.
  • Serve as a student ambassador at select campus and Advancement events.
  • Plan and execute student engagement initiatives that help foster a culture of philanthropy and engagement on campus.
  • Assist with project-based initiatives that support the goals of The Ursinus Fund and the Advancement Office.

Communication and Professional Development

  • Assist with drafting and reviewing donor, alumni, and student engagement communications.
  • Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with fellow Student Engagement Officers on team projects and outreach initiatives.
  • Contribute ideas and feedback to enhance engagement strategies, program effectiveness, and the student experience.
  • Develop skills in communication, leadership, teamwork, philanthropy, and constituent engagement through active participation in the program.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a current full-time student at Ursinus College
  • Active involvement in campus activities.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities.
  • At least one academic reference.
  • Strong skills in marketing, communications, event management, data analytics, and donor engagement.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in using technology for communication and reporting.

Departmental Accountabilities:

  • Works collaboratively with colleagues and team members in the Advancement Office and throughout the college. Participates in Advancement Office meetings and other key college staff meetings
  • Possesses knowledge and experience with computer programs that support the Advancement Department including Microsoft Office programs and Raiser’s Edge.
