Student Support Assistant (Sembawang)

Job Responsibilities

• Conduct regular walkabouts and supervise designated areas to support student behaviour management.
• Supervise students during assigned disciplinary and corrective activities, including detention, reflection sessions and community service.
• Assist with incident management by conducting preliminary conversations with students and compiling relevant records.
• Support school events and student development programmes as required.
• Maintain professional boundaries while adopting a firm, patient and supportive approach when engaging with students.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the management.

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 GCE 'O' Level passes, including English, a full Nitec qualification or equivalent.
• Good interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain firm but patient boundaries with students.
• Preferably at least 1 year of experience in student engagement and behaviour management, particularly in a primary school setting.
• Applicants with previous police service experience or relevant National Service experience are welcome to apply.
• Able to work professionally with students and support a safe and orderly school environment.

Duration/Working Hours:

1 year (Jan 2027 to Dec 2027)

Service only needed from Jan 2027 to Nov 2027

Personnels to be deployed at the following hours:

Mon & Tue : 7.10a.m to 3p.m

Wed: 7.10a.mto 1.30p.m

Thu & Fri: 7.10a.m to 4p.m

Total: 34.67 hours per week (excluding daily 1 hour lunch break)

Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays, gazetted public holidays, public holidays Off-in-lieu and school holidays
Personnel is not required to work during the school holidays; March, June, September and December.
Personnel is not required to work on the following days - 1 day eAdmin Day - 2 days PSLE Oral exam - 1 day PSLE Listening Comprehension - 3 days PSLE marking day (back to back day) - 1 x Acorn day - 1 x Day 1 Start-of-Year for Primary 1
The contract period is 12 months from 1 January 2027 to 31 December 2027. However, the actual deployment period is 11 months (per year) as no service is required during December.
