Student Support Mentor
Job Scope:
After-SchoolDrop-In Centre Management
- Run the centre and organise daily activities.
- Build positive relationships with students.
- Maintain a safe and welcoming environment.
- Monitor and record student attendance/movement and belongings.
Skills-BasedProgramme Delivery
- Plan and conduct twice-weekly programmes for groups of around 20 students.
- Develop practical, engaging activities based on students' interests and abilities.
- Track participation and progress.
- Activities may include sports, crafts, music, digital media, photography/video editing, board games and strategy games.
Life Skills Programme Support
- Assist teachers in planning and conducting weekly Life Skills lessons.
- Prepare materials and equipment.
- Adapt activities to students' learning and behavioural needs.
- Supervise students during practical and outdoor activities while ensuring safety.
Individual& Small-Group Mentoring
- Build trusting relationships with students requiring additional support.
- Conduct regular one-to-one or small-group check-ins.
- Set simple developmental goals and monitor progress.
- Document students' wellbeing and development.
- Escalate concerns to teachers, Year Heads or the Student Support Team when necessary.
Qualifications and skills:
- Diploma
- 3 years of experience working with youth, preferably in an educational or social service setting.
Duration of Service
Contract period: 14 September 2026 to 19 November2027
(14 months excluding December 2026)
Personnel to be deployed at thefollowing hours:
· Mondaysto Fridays: 9:30 am to 4.30 pm, inclusive of 30 minutes lunch break
· Servicenot required on Saturdays, Sundays, school holidays and gazetted publicholidays
