Student Support Staff
Job Description
- Manage the school's after-school drop-in centre and run engaging activities.
- Build positive rapport with students and maintain a safe, inclusive environment.
- Plan and conduct twice-weekly skills-based programmes for students.
- Organise activities such as sports, crafts, music, digital media and strategy games.
- Assist with planning and conducting weekly Life Skills lessons.
- Prepare materials and support practical/outdoor activities while ensuring student safety.
- Provide individual and small-group mentoring to students with learning, behavioural or socio-emotional needs.
- Monitor, document and report students’ participation, progress and wellbeing.
- Work closely with teachers and the Student Support Department to support students
Requirements
- Patient and passionate about student mentorship.
- Preferably 3 years of experience working with youth, education or social services.
- Diploma qualification preferred.
- Strong conflict resolution skills and able to remain calm under pressure.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Able to engage effectively with students, parents and colleagues.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office for reporting and tracking student progress
