Role Description
As a Student System Validation Engineer in the EPU team at Xsight Labs, you will contribute to the definition, development, execution, and debugging of system-level functional and performance tests for a state-of-the-art Data Processing Unit (DPU). Working closely with experienced software engineers, architects, and hardware designers, you will help validate complex hardware and software interactions and ensure that the system meets its requirements throughout the development cycle — from architecture definition and pre-silicon development to post-silicon bring-up.
This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience with a broad range of accelerators for compute, networking, storage, and security processing used in modern data centers while learning industry-standard validation and debugging methodologies.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the definition of functional and performance test cases based on system architecture specifications.
- Implement and maintain C/C++ test software for bare-metal and Linux environments.
- Execute and debug tests on software models, emulation platforms, and evaluation boards.
- Investigate and analyze issues in close collaboration with hardware designers, software engineers, and verification engineers.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of functional models for EPU accelerators.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Good C/C++ programming skills and a solid understanding of software development fundamentals.
- Understanding of computer architecture fundamentals and an interest in working with complex hardware systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities.
- Curiosity and motivation to understand complex systems, investigate issues, and find bugs.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Python programming.
- Familiarity with networking and storage protocols.
- Knowledge of cryptographic algorithms and security concepts.
Education Requirements
- Active student in the third year or above of a degree program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field.
