Summary
Assists an instructor in a film/animation history course by managing classroom tech, grading assignments, organizing library materials, and hosting optional Friday film screenings. Requires tech proficiency and storytelling insight.
Applicants MUST be current students at DigiPen Institute of Technology to qualify for this position.

- Students may not work during any time when they have a class scheduled, a class is canceled, or a class ends early.
- Student workers must reside within the State of Washington. Remote work outside of Washington will not be permitted.

Class Times:
Tuesdays – 10:00 a.m. - 12:50 p.m.
TBD/potentially: Fridays – 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.

Essential Functions
The Student TA – FLM-115 History of Film & Animation (Mosio), F26 position is open for students currently enrolled at DigiPen Institute of Technology who are interested in assisting the instructor for the FLM-115 History of Film and Animation course.
The Teaching Assistant will assist with classroom technology, checkout library items for class use, and provide guidance, feedback, and additional help to students. Some assignment or discussion forum pre-grading may be included. Potentially, a Friday evening film screening will need to be run -- this will be determined upon sufficient student interest.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist the instructor in the classroom by providing guidance and feedback to students.
- Light grading and attendance taking.
- Classroom technology assistance.
- Weekly library checkout of video materials.
- Potential weekly setup for film watch-party on Friday nights, if sufficient participation.
- Be available outside of class to provide extra help to students who may need it.
- Alert the instructor to any equipment or lab-related issues that may arise.
- Accountable for tracking and reporting the amount of time worked.
Qualifications/Competencies
- Competency with classroom technology: Windows, Teams, audio and video projection, microphones.
- Strong narrative instincts to help students analyze and comprehend storytelling techniques.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with the instructor and students.
- Highly reliable in fulfilling the duties and responsibilities of the position.
Expected dates of employment: September 1 – December 1, 2026
Expected number of hours per week: 3 - 5

Wage Range:
$17.13 - $18.25 per hour, depending on number of terms worked at DigiPen

Working Conditions:
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, and/or crouching; and fine finger dexterity. May need to lift up to 25 lbs. Generally, the job requires 80% sitting, 10% walking, and 10% standing.
DigiPen Student Employee Academic Requirements:
- Are currently a Matriculated student at DigiPen Institute of Technology
- Good Academic Standing – not on Academic Warning as defined in DigiPen Course Catalog
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
- Have taken and passed FLM-115 with a B or better
Requirement Exceptions:
It is possible to still be selected for a position with DigiPen if you do not meet the requirements above, so don't let that dissuade you from applying!
