Student Technician
Service Technicians-Student tech learns hands-on how to perform basic diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned agricultural, commercial and turf equipment. Requires assistance and guidance from the Service Manager or senior technicians. May be required to mow, sweep, carry out trash and clean in shop/yard areas. Must be enrolled in and attend technical training school.
Essential Functions
The following are essential functions of this position:
- Assist other technicians in making the following repairs: Diagnoses, rebuilds and repairs agricultural and/or turf equipment. Including small engines and power equipment/tools.
- Participates in training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge.
- Gains and maintains knowledge of John Deere and competitive products.
- Maintains condition of vehicles, inventory, tools and equipment.
- Maintains a clean work area and performs work in neat and orderly fashion.
- Follows all safety rules and regulations in conjunction with work assignments
- Accounts for all time on time card.
- Maintenance duties that include cleaning in show room/shop/yard, mowing, sweeping etc.
