Student - Welcome Home Project Event Coordinator and Social Media Manager

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist the WHP co-directors with logistical planning (activities may include email outreach to tribal and community partners)
  • Attend WHP meetings, including as a member of the Lenape Symposium Planning Committee
  • Advertise WHP events and the WHP’s work more generally (audiences include campus and Collegeville community members)
  • Update/assist in designing the WHP webpage
  • Develop and engage social media networks when appropriate

Requirements:

  • Strong writing and general communication skills
  • Demonstrated independence and self-motivation
  • Curiosity and creativity
  • Familiarity with social media networks and ability to engage the public professionally
  • Commitment to inclusive programming and a desire to learn about others

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with the WHP
  • Coursework in Native American and Indigenous Studies, History, Latin American Studies, Environmental Studies and Sustainability, Anthropology and Sociology, or a related field/discipline
