Student Worker: Evening Technology Support for HyFlex Modality

Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated and tech-savvy student worker. This role is focused on providing technical support for evening classes conducted in a HyFlex modality, where courses are delivered simultaneously to both in-person and remote students. The student worker will ensure that all technology used in the classroom, such as audio-visual equipment, streaming tools, and collaboration platforms, operates smoothly to enhance the learning experience.

Anticipated Start Date: August 2026

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Support:
  • Provide real-time troubleshooting for technology used in HyFlex classrooms, including video conferencing tools (e.g., Zoom), projectors, microphones, cameras, and other AV equipment.
  • Assist faculty and students with setup and operation of classroom technology, ensuring smooth transitions between in-person and remote participants.
  • System Monitoring:
  • Monitor the performance of classroom technology during live sessions to identify and resolve issues promptly.
  • Perform regular checks on classroom equipment to ensure everything is functioning well.
  • User Assistance:
  • Offer hands-on support to faculty members during class sessions, addressing any technical issues that arise
  • Provide support for students who are joining through Hyflex.
  • Report any recurring technical issues to the IT department for further investigation and resolution.
  • Collaboration:
  • Work closely with the IT department and other student workers to ensure consistent support coverage.
  • Participate in training sessions to stay updated on new technologies and support procedures
