Student Worker, IA - Faculty
Hours per Week: Up to 15 hours/week during session, up to 19 hours out of session
Position Summary:
The Instructional Aid and Research Assistant supports faculty, staff, and academic programs by assisting with course preparation, instructional resources, and research projects. Responsibilities may include gathering and organizing research materials, assisting with literature reviews, preparing instructional content, managing academic databases, supporting classroom technology needs, and helping maintain course materials within learning management systems. This position provides students with valuable experience in theological research, academic administration, critical thinking, and educational support while contributing to the seminary's mission of academic excellence and ministerial formation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist faculty with research projects by locating, compiling, and organizing academic and theological resources.
- Support course preparation by updating instructional materials, managing learning management system content, and preparing classroom resources.
- Conduct data entry, proofreading, and administrative tasks related to academic programs, research initiatives, and assessment activities.
Qualifications:
- Must be a currently enrolled student at Austin Seminary
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn educational technology platforms.
