Subject Matter Expert - Magnet Localization Engineer

Role Summary:

Drive localization of permanent magnets (NdFeB, Ferrite, SmCo) by collaborating with suppliers and cross-functional teams to develop, qualify, and industrialize magnet solutions for automotive and industrial applications.

Roles & Responsibilities :

· Execute magnet localization and supplier development projects.

· Evaluate, audit, and qualify magnet suppliers.

· Drive APQP, PPAP, process validation, and product approvals.

· Review drawings, specifications, and magnetic performance requirements.

· Support magnet testing, validation, and manufacturing process development.

· Resolve supplier quality issues using 8D, RCA, and CAPA.

· Collaborate with Purchasing, Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and R&D.

· Monitor project milestones, supplier readiness, and risks.

Educational qualification:

· B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Metallurgy, Materials Science, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering.

· M.Tech in Materials Science/Metallurgy is an added advantage.

Experience :

5-7 Years

Mandatory/requires Skills :
· Knowledge of NdFeB, Ferrite, and SmCo magnets.

· Understanding of magnet manufacturing and quality systems.

· Hands-on experience with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and MSA.

· Ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.

· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

· Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint.

Preferred Experience :

· Automotive, EV, electric motors, magnetic materials, or powder metallurgy.

· Supplier development and localization projects.

· Exposure to IATF 16949.
