Subject Matter Expert - Microsoft 365 & Active Directory

Role Overview :
The Microsoft 365 & Active Directory SME will support the Lineage Okta to Microsoft Entra ID transformation as part of the Program, Architecture & Governance workstream. The role will contribute to a controlled, governance-led migration that protects business continuity, validates rollback readiness, and prepares the future-state environment for operational ownership.
Key Responsibilities :
- Assess Microsoft 365 federation and Active Directory dependencies.
- Design and validate hybrid identity, synchronization, UPN, immutable ID and user-matching considerations.
- Support staged Microsoft 365 federation transition, emergency access and rollback planning.
- Validate Active Directory groups, attributes, authentication flows and directory dependencies.
- Provide technical support during pilot, cutover, recovery testing and operational transition.
Required Experience and Skills :
- Microsoft 365 identity and federation
- Active Directory and hybrid identity
- Microsoft Entra Connect or equivalent synchronization concepts
- UPN, immutable ID, claims and authentication flows
- Break-glass, rollback and production troubleshooting
Key Deliverables :
- Federation and AD dependency assessment
- Hybrid identity design inputs
- Cutover and rollback runbooks
- Validation and handover evidence
Success Measures :
- Assigned deliverables are completed to agreed quality and governance standards.
- Risks, dependencies, defects and decisions are identified early and managed transparently.
- Testing, evidence, rollback and operational-readiness requirements are completed before production progression.
- Knowledge is transferred through clear documentation, walkthroughs and support enablement.
Preferred Profile :
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in information technology, engineering, cybersecurity, program delivery or a related discipline. Relevant Microsoft, Okta, IT service management, security, change management or project management certifications are advantageous based on the role.
