Substitute ELL Paraprofessional

Position Type: Substitute through December 2026

Salary: $16.85 per hour.
Note: If you previously served as a ELL Paraprofessional and are now retired from FHSD, you will receive your last hourly wage.

No benefits are provided, as this is a substitute position.

Hours 8:50 am - 4:10 pm

Job Summary

The Substitute ESOL Paraprofessional assists classroom teachers and ESOL teachers with providing interventions, instructional support, and supervision for English Language Learners (ELLs) in the classroom. This position supports students in developing English language proficiency, understanding classroom instruction, and achieving academic success. The Substitute ESOL Paraprofessional follows lesson plans and guidance provided by classroom teachers and ESOL staff to reinforce learning, assist with classroom assignments, and provide individualized or small-group support as needed. The substitute helps create a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that encourages student participation, engagement, and independence while ensuring continuity of instruction in the absence of the regularly assigned paraprofessional.
