Substitute - Paraprofessional (Oct)

Assist teachers in maintaining appropriate classroom activities and environment in order for students to learn effectively.

Applications accepted through October 30, 2026.

Responsibilities:

• Reinforce lessons by reviewing material one on one in small groups with students
• Assist students who need additional help learning specific content
• Serve as a positive, nurturing guide for students
• Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by the principal

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to speak, read and understand the English language
• Criminal history records will be checked prior to employment

• Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals
• Posture: Frequent standing, kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
• Motion: Frequent walking and reaching
• Lifting: Frequent lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds); Occasional heavy (45 pounds or over) and positioning of students with physical disabilities, controlling behavior through physical restraint, assisting non-ambulatory students and lifting and moving adaptive and other classroom equipment
• Environment: Work inside and outside (exposure to sun, heat, cold and inclement weather); exposure to noise; exposure to biological hazards (bacteria, communicable diseases)
• Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress
